Kai, Class of 2020

When planning for her session, Kai expressed that she wanted a versatile location where she could have options that look both urban and nature-based. I suggested Gene Coulon park because it has some beautiful settings and it's right next to a newly developed area with hotels and other businesses. We also ended up taking a few photos in Kai's backyard because the woods were so beautiful!

For her makeup, Kai wanted flawless skin and subtle but elegant eyes. Proper skin prep is essential for any makeup application so we started there and then moved to onto her eyes. I used an eggplant tone to define her eyes and a peachy metallic tone to highlight the center. I kept the foundation light and spot corrected areas that needed more attention to keep things looking natural. Kai's hair was done by the amazingly talented Tele-Aramaine McCray (@telearamainehair on IG).

I loved the wardrobe we decided on. Kai presented me with lots of options so we narrowed it down to the outfits that made her feel and look her best. My personal favorite was the ballgown (Kai participates in debutante balls) but I really loved the leopard jumpsuit with the denim jacket combo too. Her well thought out wardrobe brought more of an editorial feel to the session which is always fun!

I’m so happy with how Kai’s images turned out so I was really excited when her mom chose to order an heirloom album. She opted for a luxe leather cover in Storm, an elegant leather with deep blue undertones. It turned out so beautifully and I’m so glad she has it to share with future generations!

Are you a 2020 or 2021 graduating senior? I'd love to hear from you!
